Janitor – 1st Shift

About the role

This is a 1st shift position (7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout Plant 1 and Plant 2 by performing janitorial, facility upkeep, and light grounds maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean work environment in the offices, on the shop floor, and in outside areas of Plant 1 and Plant 2.
• Complete the weekly Janitorial Checklist, which includes, but is not limited to: sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all floors, wiping surfaces, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, etc.
• Empty trash cans, recyclables, and shredders.
• Clean and maintain all bathrooms. Keep needed bathroom supplies full.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen/staff lounge areas.
• Clean and maintain all common areas, including front lobbies and hallways.
• Keep front doors and windows clean.
• Clean machines on the shop floor.
• Clean spills periodically.
• Maintain the parking lot by cleaning up litter, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, etc.
• Shovel snow during winter months, if needed.
• Communicate with the supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Keep the janitor closet clean and tidy.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety and MIOSHA requirements.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Participate in training and meetings.
• Follow all company Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Standards of Conduct policies.
• Report safety or quality concerns in a timely manner.
• Understand and implement Drake Driven Core Values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Some previous experience in maintaining a clean work environment preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Physical stamina for daily cleaning duties throughout the shop and offices
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and temperature changes. PPE required.
• This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position (40 hours per week).
