Operations Manager – Automotive Tier 1

We are looking for an Operations Manager for a Japanese Automotive Tier 1 automotive leader near the Wilmington, NC area. We are recruiting an Operations Manager to lead Manufacturing Production for an established Japanese Automotive Tier 1 supplier. This is a direct-hire, permanent career opportunity for a production manager and leader who excels in high-volume manufacturing environments.

We are looking for someone to manage production, quality, and safety while driving operational excellence across the plant floor.

Responsibilities

• Production Leadership: Direct day-to-day operations, production schedules, and labor allocation to ensure 100% on-time delivery to customers.
• Performance Tracking: Utilize Microsoft Excel to monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven productivity improvements.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead 5S initiatives, Gemba Walks, Five Why, PFMEA root cause analysis, and safety protocols to maintain a world-class manufacturing environment.
• Team Development: Mentor and manage a team of supervisors and production staff to hit daily output and quality targets.
• Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years of Operations Management, Production Management, or Senior Supervision in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Industry: Background in Tier 1 Automotive or Automotive OEM.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in KPI Tracking, production efficiency monitoring, and Root Cause Analysis. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Operational Tools: Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Shop Floor Leadership to drive Scrap Reduction and efficiency.
• Bachelors Degree.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. No Visa, OPT, or CPT sponsorship is available.
• Relevant experience includes working as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, or in Manufacturing, with Production Leadership experience. Japanese high-volume manufacturing is preferred. An interest in working in or moving to North Carolina is also sought.
